Valentine's Cards in 2026

The very first post I made on this blog was for Valentines Cards even though then, like now, there is no-one I plan to buy one for. I thought it would be a nice touch to revisit the subject and see what's currently available. I am that sad person that could spend hours looking at cards and chuckling away at the funny ones. Valentine's Day is no different and even though I don't have a someone special, I am a big fan of love and an admirer of the people who make it work. God knows it ain't easy!

Click on the image to buy or browse the cards. Not sponsored, I wish I was smart enough and my blog was popular enough for that to be the case!

A Topical Card To Start Us Off:

The show has a lot of fans. If your current squeeze was one of them, this could be the card to buy:

They Made You Like Them, and You're Mad About It!

Just to reassure all the Liams out there, the website chose the name, not me! I did choose the name Liam some years ago, for my son. I may even have told him he had a stupid face, but I would never put it on a card, mainly because he wouldn't see the funny side! Perhaps something to consider before you buy this one for a partner?

Educationally Irresponsible

These ones are not linked since I don't approve! They do however come from the same website as the previous cards if you take these matters less seriously. I may be standing at your local branch waiting to lecture you if you pick these up!

Sweet and Innocent?

It's sweet because there's a lollipop on it and it's innocent because everyone knows that's how you claim something before someone else gets their hands - or tongue - on it :P

Say It Like It Is

Science proves that people who swear are more likely to be truthful. I haven't done the research but since I'm honest to a fault and love to curse (sorry Mum), I know it to be accurate, no further proof needed.

And we all know someone who is never going to use flowery language, even on Valentine's. If that sounds like you, this is the card you are looking for.

Representatation Matters

I honestly can't remember if there was a dedicated LGBTQ+ section when I posted last time, but it is hugely important to have cards depicting same sex couples readily available. I can't say I noticed anything catering to non binary or gender fluid buyers, but as I am not in the category it's not for me to say if these cards are suitable. I do strive for understanding so feel free to comment if you have experience on the subject.

What I will say, and it is entirely my own opinion as an LGBTQ+ person, is a card to be exchanged with an intimate partner need not have rainbows and declarations about pride or being gay. It should purely be about what you share with that person and I long for a day where there isn't a need to slap rainbows on everything to prove inclusivity.

Special Interest

You know you have a special place in the heart of your significant other, but something else does too. Perhaps the passion you share isn't just for the bedroom but a mutual love for something else that unites you.

These cards came from Moonpig and also provide representation, even if there isn't a collective noun like Trekkies or Swifties for your tribe.

I want to finish by saying that on Valentine's Day and all year round, the most important person to love is yourself. I know from experience that one day you can have someone and the next they can be gone no matter what promises were made or displays of affection presented. You are the only person you can rely on so love yourself, look after yourself and only share your precious life with someone who compliments it.
